Mount Dora Christian Academy Sophomore Ben Glass Is Our Student Athlete Of The Week
MOUNT DORA, Fla. — Ben Glass isn’t your average high school sophomore. The Mount Dora Christian Academy offensive tackle is carving out a name for himself as one of Central Florida’s top young football talents. With a combination of brains, brawn, and quickness, Glass is dominating both on and off the field.
Standing out as an All-District offensive lineman, the Class of 2027 standout is known for his relentless drive and pancake blocks that leave defenders flat on the turf. His strength in the weight room speaks volumes: a 240-pound bench press, a 365-pound squat, and an eye-popping 405-pound deadlift all as a sophomore underscore his physical dominance.
But Glass isn’t just a powerhouse athlete—he’s also a scholar. With a 4.3 GPA, the sophomore exemplifies what it means to be a student-athlete. His intelligence on the field mirrors his academic success. He’s been paving the way for his team’s offensive success as well.
“Ben Glass has exceptional size and an unwavering work ethic. This distinguishes him among his peers as an outstanding offensive lineman. Not only does he excel in athletics, but he also shines academically,” says MDCA Athletic Director Megan Ziegelhofer. “Ben’s high character and integrity make him a role model for others, embodying the true spirit of a student-athlete.” says Megan.
Ben is the total package. He’s smart, strong, and quick, but what sets him apart is his work ethic and leadership. He’s destroying guys out there, play after play, and making it look easy. With another two years to develop, college scouts should certainly have their eyes on him.
As Glass prepares to enter his junior year later this year, he’s already drawing attention as one of Central Florida’s top offensive linemen to watch. The sky’s the limit for this rising star.
I am very excited to see how this young man comes out for spring football in a few months. Keep up the great work Ben!
