FRUITLAND PARK, Fla. — A new chapter in Fruitland Park’s educational history will begin in January 2025 with the grand opening of the brand-new Fruitland Park Elementary School. The state-of-the-art facility will replace the aging elementary school that has served the community for over 50 plus years.

Located on a sprawling modern campus, the new school is designed to enhance the learning environment for students and staff with upgraded classrooms, advanced technology, and expanded recreational facilities. The new building is expected to provide a significant improvement in both capacity and amenities, ensuring that local students have access to a high-quality educational experience in a safe and innovative space.
We’re excited to see this beautiful, new facility which will provide students with the best possible environment to learn and grow. This school represents the future of education in Fruitland Park, and we can’t wait to see how it positively impacts our students and community.

Meanwhile, the existing Fruitland Park Elementary School will temporarily serve a different purpose in its final potential year of operation. In the 2025-2026 school year, the building will house students from Leesburg’s Beverly Shores Elementary School while their campus undergoes a major renovation. The renovation at Beverly Shores is part of a broader district effort to modernize local schools, with construction expected to last the entire academic year.
(This is what a typical classroom will look like. The windows are big and will provide plenty of natural light into the classroom which is designed to reduce energy. This type of design is very popular and modern right now.)
The transition plan will allow Lake County School’s to make necessary improvements at Beverly Shores while minimizing disruption for students and staff. By utilizing the old Fruitland Park Elementary facility, this willl ensure the students are not in a construction zone during the modifications to Beverly Shores.
The construction of the new Fruitland Park Elementary School comes as part of the district’s long-term infrastructure plan, which seeks to address overcrowding and aging buildings across Lake County. With the population continuing to explode in our area with new families moving to Lake County daily this was very much needed. The new school will feature advanced safety measures, energy-efficient systems, and flexible spaces designed for modern teaching methods.
(The new cafeteria will be very spacious and provide students and faculty with a nice gathering area.)

The January opening will mark the end of an era for the old Fruitland Park Elementary School, which has educated generations of local children. Its temporary role in supporting the Beverly Shores renovation will likely be its final use as an elementary school. We are unsure about the future plans for the old Fruitland Park Elementary school as of now but plans should be announced in the near future.
An official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Fruitland Park Elementary School has not yet been announced, but students should be set to begin classes in early January.
