Public Meeting to be Held Thursday for Proposed Roundabout

The Lake County Office of Public Works and OM Engineering is hosting an informational community meeting to answer any questions and show an exhibit of the future roundabout project on CR 561 & Lakeshore Drive in Clermont. This meeting will be held on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Clermont Arts & Recreation Center (3700 S Hwy 27, Clermont).

Lake County has recognized that the intersection at CR 561 with Lakeshore Dr in Clermont, FL is in need of improvements. The intersection is at a 30-degree angle with a one-way stop on Lakeshore Drive. Lake County is currently re-design the area to include a single lane roundabout. The roundabout will require re-alignment on both CR 561 and Lakeshore Drive, but will provide a safe, free-flowing intersection. The roundabout will be located about 300 feet north of the existing intersection.
Lake County has retained the engineering firm OM Engineering to do the design of the roundabout. Residents are invited to an informational public meeting at the Clermont Arts & Recreation Center (ARC) in Clermont, FL. The Lake County and OM Engineering teams will be available to show an exhibit of the roundabout and answer any questions the residents might have.
For more information, please call The Office of Public Works at 352-253-6016.
