Real Life Christian Academy In Clermont Welcomes New Football Coach Daniel Sousa
Exciting news from Real Life Christian Academy. The 8-Man Tackle football team is coming off it’s best season ever. After finishing 8-3, a new season comes with a new look and a new head coach. Daniel Sousa has been named as the head coach of the football program. Daniel has 10 years of coaching experience at the High School level. His past teams have qualified for State Playoffs, achieved semi-final berths and won an Undefeated State Championship.
Coach Sousa also set school and state offensive scoring records and achieved multiple Top 10 finishes in the state rankings. During his time as a Division II Football Coach, he served as Assistant Running Backs Coach, Recruiting Coordinator for the West Coast and served in many public relations positions including NFL Pro Day evaluations.
“Coach Sousa has a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Mississippi College and a Master’s Degree in Physical Education from Ball State University. We are looking forward to welcoming coach Sousa and are excited about another great season!” says Real Life Christian Academy Athletic Director Debi Lawson.
Real Life Christian Academy was joined by Liberty Christian Prep last year as one of only two schools to have 8-Man football programs. This type of football is slightly different than traditional 11-man football. 8-Man football is played on a shorter and less wide field. The competition is just as competitive and many of the same rules apply. It’s actually very exciting to watch. Liberty Christian Prep won a conference championship in their first year with a program.
We are very excited to watch the RLCA program grow. We wish the best of luck to coach Daniel Sousa!
