Renovation Plans Underway for Historic Stay and Save Motel in Leesburg

Exciting developments are on the horizon for the historic Stay and Save Motel in Leesburg, as the property owners have plans for a comprehensive renovation project. The property, located at 1308 N. 14th Street, is set to undergo a transformation into modern micro-apartments and business offices, according to Leesburg City Commissioner Alan Reisman.

Situated on two parcels near the intersection where U.S. Highways 27 and 441 split, the Stay and Save Motel holds many memories in the heart of Leesburg. Across the street from Ramshackles restaurant and adjacent to Best Western, the property’s prime location offers ample opportunities for redevelopment.

The Stay and Save Motel has been a topic of conversation in the community since its closure in the late 2010s. Various ideas, including retail space, apartments, and even reverting it back to a motel, have been considered over the years. Now, the current property owner has taken the reins to breathe new life into the iconic establishment.

ThisIsLeesburgLLC acquired the property in September 2021 after it was previously owned by Sun Biz Management. Despite initial intentions to renovate the existing inn and convention center, Sun Biz Management sold the property to ThisIsLeesburgLLC.

We will continue to follow this development as more details arise.
