On Saturday, Nov. 18, the Pat Thomas Stadium in Leesburg hosted the JamBurg music festival for the second year.  The rain finally departed and blue skies and sunshine came out to jam with the festival attendees.  Festival president Josh Floyd puts on the event to benefit the Leesburg Center for the Arts, where he also serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors.  All proceeds from JamBurg go to the non-profit, which has been established since 1988 and its mission is to provide art education to all of Lake County.  This year’s festival lineup featured multiple Florida-based bands including Tand and MiniM, as well as returning headliners Spafford, who are originally from Arizona.

The day was full of great music and great vibes.  Festival goers reported being from all over the USA including Oregon, Ohio, Kentucky, and New York.  Richard Colvin, Executive Director of Leesburg Center for the Arts, did a live painting of blues legend Buddy Guy during the event to the delight of attendees.  Food trucks and refreshments were available as well as merchandise from the bands and an official limited-edition event poster.

Spafford truly brought the “jam” to JamBurg and they lived up to their reputation as a band that is not afraid to dive deep into extended, improvisational jams.  Spafford treated the crowd to a killer encore performance that featured a twenty-six-minute musical sandwich of songs “Electric Taco Stand,” “Run Like Hell,”  and “Electric Taco Stand,” that included a cover of legendary rock band, Pink Floyd.  This marked the second year for JamBurg and Floyd hopes to continue to bring more events to Leesburg in the future.  For more information, please visit www.JamBurgFL.com or www.Leesburgarts.com if you want to be involved with these great causes.
