Senior Shortstop Aidan Ross Leaves His Mark at Umatilla High

Aidan “AD” Ross
How it all started: I’ve been playing baseball since I was 4. My parents forced me to play and I fell in love with the game ever since.
Greatest sports achievement: Helping my team make an incredible run last year and coming one win away from the state tournament. Also continuing to play baseball at Lake-Sumter State College.
My motivation: I love the competition and I hate losing. My parents keep me motivated when things get tough. My teammates and coaches are constantly challenging me every day, pushing me to get better.
Goals: To make it to the state tournament and win it. I also want to continue my athletic career through college and beyond.
Pre-game ritual: I usually hit and listen to some music in the locker room with the team.

When I’m not training: I’ve recently gotten into golf, so I like to do that every now and then. I also like spending time at home with family.
In my future: I plan to go to Lake-Sumter State College while studying business and see where it all goes from there.
Someone who’s impacted me: My biggest inspiration is my former coach who passed away a couple years ago. I continue to play baseball because of him.
My mark: I would like to leave a legacy that the younger generations can look up to. I want to set a great example for those kids.
