South Sumter High Senior Rashad Johnson Committs To Texas A&M
Bushnell, FL – Rashad “Tomtom” Johnson, the four-star safety from South Sumter High School, has officially flipped his commitment from the University of Georgia to Texas A&M. The 6’2″, 190-pound standout has made waves in the recruiting world since committing to the Bulldogs back in July, but his recent decision reflects a deeper connection to the Aggies.
Johnson announced his commitment to Texas A&M where he expressed excitement about joining the Aggies. “I’m home, let’s get it!” he declared. This announcement has set the local football community abuzz, as Tomtom is not only a pivotal player for the South Sumter Raiders but also a rising star with immense potential.
His decision to switch schools comes after a strong start to his senior season, showcasing his skills as a hard-hitting safety with an exceptional ability to read the game. With 33 tackles, 1 interceptions a caused fumble and numerous pass deflections this season. Johnson has proven to be a game-changer on the field. His dynamic presence in the secondary has drawn attention from college programs across the nation, and his commitment to Texas A&M speaks to the trust he has in their coaching staff and program.
Texas A&M, known for its strong defensive unit and passionate fan base, seems to be a perfect fit for Johnson. The Aggies have made significant strides in recruiting top talent, and landing a player of Johnson’s caliber solidifies their commitment to building a championship-caliber team.
This is very exciting and we congratulate Rashad and his family on the commitment to the Texas A&M Aggies!
