South Sumter High’s George Mullins Signs Commitment To Michigan State University
BUSHNELL, Fla. — South Sumter High School’s standout defensive back George Mullins, a three-star recruit and one of Central Florida’s top defensive talents, has signed his commitment to play football at Michigan State University starting in the fall of 2025.
Mullins, who has been a cornerstone of South Sumter’s defense, delivered an impressive career with 10 interceptions and 85 total tackles. His versatility shined on special teams his junior year where his elite speed led to three blocked field goals and one blocked punt.
Over his high school career, Mullins has earned the reputation in Central Florida as a lockdown defender and a critical factor in South Sumter’s success. His contributions have helped propel the Raiders to multiple appearances in the FHSAA Regional Finals.
Beyond football, Mullins is a multi-sport athlete who excels in basketball and track and field. On the hardwood, he averaged 7.3 points per game as a freshman. In track, he has competed at the district level in the 400-meter dash and high jump. He’s a great athlete with a 3.4 GPA.
We are very proud of George Mullins. Congratulations to his family, friends, teachers, coaches and everyone who has worked so hard to get him to this level. Way to go George!
