Southern Hill Farms Recovers from Devastating Barn Fire, Prepares for Fall Festival

Early Monday morning, a fire broke out at Southern Hill Farms in Clermont, destroying a barn that housed most of the farm’s essential equipment, including several tractors, farm vehicles, and other machinery crucial to daily operations. The fire, which began shortly after 3 AM, was responded to by the Clermont Fire Department and Lake County Fire Rescue. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and all family members, team members, and first responders are safe.

While the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, initial reports suggest that lightning may have struck the barn, igniting the flames. Despite this setback, Southern Hill Farms remains committed to its upcoming events and will open its gates as scheduled for the 9th Annual Southern Hill Farms Fall Festival on September 28.

“We know our annual fall festival is a beloved part of your fall traditions, and we are committed to moving forward,” their Facebook post read. “We appreciate your continued support during this challenging time.”

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available. For now, the farm team remains focused on ensuring a successful fall festival for all to enjoy.
