Lake County, FL – July 2024 – Starr Wellness Collective is pleased to announce the successful completion of the 2024 Summer @ Starr.Fit program. Over the past six weeks, the program has empowered 45 middle and high school teens by providing them with essential fitness, nutrition, and wellness knowledge, laying the groundwork for lifelong healthy habits.

Program Achievements
The 2024 Summer @ Starr.Fit program offered a comprehensive approach to health, featuring high-intensity functional training, nutrition workshops, and wellness activities. Highlights included:

  • Fitness Training: Participants engaged in intensive workouts that significantly enhanced their physical capabilities. Pre- and post-program assessments showed marked improvements in cardiovascular endurance, body fat reduction, and skeletal muscle mass increase.
  • Nutritional and Wellness Education: Teens learned about hydration, energy balance, meal planning, and building healthy plates. Many reported adopting healthier behaviors and influencing family members to embrace healthier lifestyles.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Group fitness and nutrition activities fostered a sense of community and mutual support among the teens.

Results and Observations
The program yielded impressive results, including:

  • Athletic Performance: All 45 participants showed improvements in fitness, including enhanced aerobic health and muscle growth.
  • Hydration: 39 participants successfully integrated proper hydration protocols into their routines.
  • Skeletal Muscle Mass: 66.7% saw an increase in muscle mass, highlighting the program’s effectiveness.
  • Body Fat and Visceral Fat Changes: 46.2% of participants reduced body fat, though more targeted interventions are needed to address the trend of teen obesity.
  • Mental Health: 93% of teens reported improved mood and energy, with 71% feeling more mentally empowered. Parents noted positive changes in their children’s behavior and enthusiasm.

Parent Feedback and Recommendations
Parents appreciated the program’s design and its impact on their children. Recommendations included expanding the program to include more teens, offering additional nutrition courses, and integrating parent-child workouts and meal planning.

(On top of fitness, Starr Wellness also focuses on the mental health of teens. This is a terrific program.)
