Tavares High School Baseball Catcher Parker Fisher Signs Commitment to Dordt University

Parker Fisher signed his commitment letter to play for Dordt University in Iowa today. Parker is a catcher for the Tavares High School baseball team. He will have an opportunity to continue his academic and playing career at the next level.

Parker is a great kid who not only works hard on the field but off the field as well. Parker maintained a .275 batting average in 2023 with 14 hits and 7 RBIs. As a catcher he is smart and does not make mistakes behind the plate often.

While he excels on the baseball field Parker is also involved with the Tavares community off the field. Parker works with the City of Tavares as an umpire for baseball games and works the concession stand as well. Parker also had the chance to catch for some amazing talent last summer when he was the catcher in the bullpen for the Leesburg Lightning. When he is not on the baseball field, Parker enjoys swimming. Parker is a certified diver.

Overall Parker is a great kid who deserves an opportunity at the next level. He will be a leader for the Tavares Bulldogs in 2024 along with Triston Marks and Dallas Rasmussen. Tavares looks to get back to the FHSAA playoffs in 2024. They accomplished that just two years ago in 2022 but lost to Bishop Moore in the first round 3-0.

Dordt University is located in Iowa. Dordt is a member of the NAIA Division II Conference. The baseball team is coached by Nathon Bacon.

Congratulations to Parker Fisher, his family, friends and coaches on his big day!
