DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Tavares High School senior Jamarcus Pugh made his presence felt at the Georgia vs. Florida Showcase Football Game this past weekend, showcasing his versatility and athleticism in front of coaches, recruiters, and fellow standout athletes.

Pugh, primarily an outside linebacker, stepped into an unfamiliar role at safety during the game, where he logged two tackles and demonstrated his adaptability on the field. The game, held in Daytona Beach, ended in a narrow 28-25 victory for Georgia, but Pugh relished the opportunity to compete on a big stage.

“I am beyond thankful for the opportunity I was given to play in the Georgia vs. Florida Showcase Game in Daytona,” Pugh said. “Although Georgia won 28-25, it was a great time.”

The senior linebacker’s high school career has been marked by consistent production, amassing 90 tackles, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and an interception. During the showcase, Pugh not only bolstered his stats but also expanded his network, connecting with coaches and recruiters.

“To all my coaches and mentors at Tavares High, I appreciate everything,” he said.

In addition to football, Pugh is a multi-sport athlete, excelling on the baseball diamond. He is gearing up for his senior baseball season, which begins in just a few weeks.

Congratulations to Jamarcus Pugh and we wish him the best on his continued athletic and academic journey.
