The Iverson Classic Blackout Signature Series descends upon The Villages for a two-day tournament featuring some of the best teams in Florida. Many of the schools attending have future Division 1 basketball talent, future NBA stars and is going to be an absolutely incredible experience.

Teams like Westminster Academy from Fort Lauderdale, Olympia in Orland, Berkley Prep School, Mater Lake Academy, and more will all be playing some of the top talent in the state of Florida. Iverson Classic states “The Blackout Signature Series represents the best elite matchups in the nation. From city to city. The first-ever event in the Blackout Signature Series was one year ago in the Orlando Metro area at The Villages High School. Now, we’re coming back with more heat. Lock in your calendar for this. It’s going to be one for the books.”

The Villages Charter School will be playing at 7:30pm on Friday evening against Tampa Catholic and on Saturday when they face off against Westminster Academy from Fort Lauderdale.

Many of the teams showcased are favorites to win state championships. Perhaps the biggest story is just how far The Villages Charter High School has come in just a short two decades. The climb up the ladder for The Villages has been incredible to watch. From the humble beginnings at the original school to the brand-new state of the art high school which opened in Middleton in August of 2023. This tournament is going to be truly something special.

When you walk into The Villages Charter School gym or the weight room, baseball field, volleyball courts, and the school as a whole it just feels top notch. The place is absolutely beautiful and the facilities are nothing short of breathtaking. If you have not had the chance to see this impressive school yet, you will be in awe of what was built in Sumter County of that we are certain.

If you are a fan of basketball and want to see some of greatest athletes at their high school peak go at it, then make it a point to come by The Villages Charter School at some point this weekend. You’ll be glad you did.

This tournament will showcase the best of what Florida has to offer on the floor. The schedule is as followed.
