In a game that came down to the wire, Umatilla High School was able to outlast Mount Dora Christian Academy 62-60 in what was one of the most entertaining games of the year. Umatilla moves to 12-3 with the win. Meanwhile MDCA is now 11-6 this season.

It was a deadlock the entire distance as both teams were evenly matched. Late in the game the score was tied 60-60. There were just a few seconds remaining in the game and Umatilla had possession of the ball. Umatilla drove down the floor finding #3 Artis James who has been so good all season long. James did what he does best and took a shot from about the foul shot line that went in.

The gym erupted with the Umatilla fans in attendance and left MDCA shocked. Umatilla would hang on to win the game and Artis James was the hero. MDCA played an impressive game and has nothing to hang their heads about other than a loss. This team hung with one of the best in Lake County and they should be proud of their efforts.
