Villages Track & Field Star Caley Sosnowski who recently won the FHSAA State Championship in the Javelin Throw is headed toTusculum University in Greeneville, TN for the fall of 2023 on scholarship for both Volleyball and Track & Field. Caley is a 3 sport athlete – Volleyball, Weightlifting and Track and Field. Caley was recently awarded the All-American Award from The National High School Strength Coaches Association.  She was the first Villages Charter School student to receive this award. She holds several School Records and a FL state records.

(Sosnowski with her State Championship medal.)

Caley’s older sister Carly was the first Villages Charter High School student to be recruited to Division 1 for Volleyball.  She attended FIU her freshman year and then transferred to Tusculum University where she left her mark in the record book. Caley is looking forward to breaking Carly’s record.  A little sisterly competition is pretty normal in the Sosnowski household.

Caley was an incredible athlete. She was one of the greatest all around female athletes The Villages Charter School had ever seen. She is the youngest of the Sosnowski family and will do amazing things for Tusculum University! They are getting one incredible athlete and student.

(Sosnowski will also be playing two sports, Volleyball and Track & Field in College.)

We got the chance to speak with Cindy Sosnowski who is Caley’s mother. She says “Next week we are heading to Orlando for the AAU and then we will be empty nesters!” Cindy went on to say ” For all the parents…..I would encourage them to treasure all the moments.  I recently started thinking…..could I have fit in more fun? The time goes by way too fast!” We couldn’t have said it better Cindy! It certainly does.

The impact the Sosnowski family has left on The Villages will be felt for years to come. Caley in particular has inspired a large group of Junior, Sophomore and Incoming Freshman girls that if you train & work hard enough, greatness is achievable. It may be a long time before we see a group of talent as dominant as the Sosnowski sisters again, but we look forward to the impact they will continue to have no matter where they go in life.

(One of Caley’s last throws of her High School career was one of her best. She would go on to take 1st place in the State Championship by a wide margin for Girls Javelin Throw.)

We wish Caley and her family the best of luck in this new chapter of their lives. Congratulations to the Sosnowski family.
