Volunteers Needed For UWLS Day Of Caring

1 min read| Published On: January 31st, 2024|

United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties wants to see how big of an impact can be made in just one day. The organization has put out the call for volunteers to show up and serve on Day of Caring on Feb. 20.

Projects are being organized across both counties for the volunteers to complete — including painting, cleaning, landscaping/gardening, and more at local nonprofit agency sites and public facilities.

Through the power of collective action, UWLS wants to demonstrate the power of Living United. To sign up to give your time and effort for the day, visit uwls.org/volunteer.  Once you’re registered, a UWLS staff member will connect with you to assign you to a project team and provide details on times and location.

All questions about Day of Caring should be directed to Juana Delacruz at 352-787-7530 ext. 224 or juana.delacruz@uwls.org. United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties serves needs in the areas of economic mobility, education and health in both counties and facilitates and delivers a number of direct services and programs.

Additionally, UWLS provides grants or support that fund programs in over 20 partner agencies or nonprofits. The United Way organization fights for the health, education and financial stability of every person in every community. United Way is the world’s largest privately funded nonprofit, engaged in 1,000 communities across more than 37 countries and territories.
