Wildwood Middle High School Stars Commit to College Teams

It was an exciting day at Wildwood Middle High School as six students signed their college letters of intent. There was a lot of talent on display, and we congratulate each and every one of them. Let’s go over the list of athletes who signed with their respective Colleges and Universities.

Kamarius Worthen: Troy University

Kamarius Worthen has signed with Troy University. Worthen is a standout Track & Field star, participating in the 400 Meter and 800 Meter races, as well as the 4X400 Relay Race. He has been blazing a trail at Wildwood, especially this year where he won the 400 Meter Race on March 1st during the Wildwood Wildcat Fast on the First meet with a time of 50.93. Worthen also claimed victory in the 800 Meter Race on March 6th at the Wildwood Wildcat Invitational. He will be a great addition to Troy University’s team, competing at the highest collegiate level in NCAA Division 1. Congratulations to Worthen, and we wish him the best of luck.

Dallas Isham: Westminster College

Dallas Isham was a standout football star at Wildwood Middle High School for the past few years. We covered Isham’s commitment in a previous story, which you can read here. Isham had 27 receptions this year for 287 yards and was a standout defensive player, causing 2 fumbles and making 24 tackles. He is an all-around tremendous athlete, and his commitment is a significant pickup for Westminster College. We look forward to seeing Isham continue his academic and playing career at the next level.

Lorenza Simmons: Independence Community College

Lorenza Simmons is headed to Independence Community College. Simmons led the Wildwood Wildcats football team in total receiving yards this season, with 50 catches for 888 yards and 12 offensive touchdowns. He also contributed on defense with 45 tackles and leading the team in interceptions. Simmons is a versatile and talented player, and we wish him the best of luck at ICC.

Timothy Hall: LaGrange College

Timothy Hall, a 6’5″ 350lb offensive lineman, has put in tremendous work this year. He will be playing at the next level for LaGrange College in Georgia, an NCAA Division III program. Hall’s commitment is a testament to his dedication and skill on the field, and we look forward to seeing his continued success at LaGrange.

Ondre’ Ryan McDougle: Technical Institute

Ondre’ Ryan anchored the defense for Wildwood this season, with 57 tackles and causing 2 fumbles. His commitment to McDougle Technical Institute is a testament to his skills and dedication to the game. We congratulate him on his commitment and wish him the best of luck.

Nia Haugabrook: South Florida State College

Nia Haugabrook, a talented volleyball athlete who also played basketball at Wildwood, has signed with South Florida State College. She had an impressive senior year in volleyball with 113 kill shots, 38 aces, an 82% serve percentage, and 73 points. On the basketball court, she averaged 3.3 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per game. Congratulations to Nia, and we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.

Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.

For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.

Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
