Winn-Dixie in Leesburg Set To Close In February, Making Way For ALDI

LEESBURG, Fla. — The Winn-Dixie store in Leesburg located at 27405 U.S. Highway 27 in Leesburg will officially close its doors on February 9th, marking another step in the transition of Winn-Dixie locations to ALDI stores across Florida. In the weeks leading up to its closure, the Leesburg store will sell its remaining inventory at discounted rates, offering customers the chance to save while the shelves are cleared.

The closure is part of a broader shift as ALDI continues its expansion in the state. Winn-Dixie, once a staple of Florida grocery shopping continues to see locations turn into ALDI grocery stores. Following the Leesburg store’s closure, only five Winn-Dixie locations will remain in Lake and Sumter counties, down from at least eight just two years ago.

For long-time customers of the Leesburg Winn-Dixie, the closure marks the end of an era. We want to know how you feel. Are you sad to see Winn-Dixie closing? Let us know in the comments.
