Alicia Ley, 36

Occupation: Junior CFO at EnviroPro Tree Farm in Clermont

What I do: I run the day-to-day operations, working alongside my mom, Sherry, so that I can learn everything possible.

My journey: I originally began working with my dad, Scott, in the Insurance industry. When the opportunity came to change careers and work with my mom, I couldn’t pass it up. I started at EnviroPro Tree Farm in 2021.

Why it’s my passion: I get to represent a family grown business in an all-women-run company alongside my mom, sister and aunt. I look forward to our growth internally and in the community.

Notable achievement: To be honest, I am still working on that. I do think having the courage to move to another career is a big accomplishment for me. It takes a huge leap of faith to do this and is really one of the scariest things I’ve ever done. Going into the unknown and learning about a new field is eye opening and wonderful all at the same time.

Words of wisdom: You aren’t going to find the time to pursue your goals; you’re going to make the time to pursue your goals. The first thing you’re going to need to accept is that you’re in control of your schedule.

Outside the farm: My husband, Kevin, and I enjoy outdoor activities and adventures with our two dogs, Ruca and Yoko. I also love crafting, decorating and spending time with my family.

Life after 40: I look forward to keeping our tree farm moving forward and expanding. Building this with my sister Lauren is really a dream I’ve thought about for a long time. Eventually I’ll take on my mother’s role as CFO when she retires and pass EnviroPro down to our own children.
