Lake Minneola High School Introduces New School Logo

Lake Minneola High has introduced a new school logo. The new logo is a departure from the old one, which had been in place for a number of years. It is a modern take on a classic design.

The new “M” looks much more modern while retaining a sort of 1980s and ’90s block letter charm. The colors of the logo have been updated and are much more progressive than the dark green and darker yellow that accompanied the old logo.

The new logo looks more like Oregon’s colors in a way. The shade of yellow has changed to a brighter, almost neon color, while the green takes a background role for the first time in school history.

(The old logo had been around a long time. We are unsure if this logo will continue to be used in any form. We attempted to contact Lake Minneola High but due to it being summer time and being a Friday no one was in the office.)

With yellow as the dominant color and green as the secondary color, it gives just enough of a tinge to keep it modern but retains the classic Lake Minneola High charm we have all grown to know and love.

The hawk has also been replaced in the primary logo. The new logo makes use of a clever design of wings on both sides of the “M.” The word “Hawks” has moved from the top of the logo to the bottom.

(Another variation of the logo that will be used.)

The logo has also been seen in a variation of all black with a hint of yellow as a sort of alternate to what appears to be the primary look going forward. Another version has a white background which you can see below.

Overall, this design is certainly more modern and simplistic. This goes along with many programs and businesses streamlining their designs to minimalism. Dunkin’ Donuts became Dunkin’, Domino’s Pizza became just Dominos, Target, Adidas, Nike were also among big companies that have minimized their logos in recent years. This tactic has also impacted schools and other entities. Even my school, Curry College, has rebranded to a more minimalistic logo recently.

The school has not updated their website with this design as of now and still reflects the old school logo. Lake Minneola High joins Tavares High School who updated their school logo last year. However Tavares High only updated to athletics portion of their school. The classic T remains as the primary logo and the Tavares Bulldogs logo is used for athletics purposes.

(New Tavares High Bulldogs logo which was introduced to much fanfare last year as a positive upgrade to the old logo.)

(Much like Lake Minneola High’s old logo this old Tavares one was hand drawn. The new logos will look much better on a digital platform.)

So, we want to know your thoughts. Do you like this new logo from Lake Minneola High? Let us know in the comments.
