Mount Dora High Runner Hannah Douglas Signs with Georgia Southern University

MOUNT DORA, Fla. — Mount Dora High School celebrated a milestone for its cross-country and track & field programs as senior Hannah Douglas officially signed her letter of intent to compete at the NCAA Division I level with Georgia Southern University.
Douglas, a dedicated distance runner, has been a key member of Mount Dora’s team throughout her four-year high school career. Known for her perseverance and determination, she has consistently demonstrated what it means to be a student-athlete.

(Hannah Douglas became the first runner in school history to win four consecutive district championships for Mount Dora High.)
“Georgia Southern is gaining a dedicated distance runner known for her perseverance and determination throughout her high school career,” said Mount Dora cross-country head coach Cody Adkinson. “Douglas put in years of hard work and has been a key member of her team all four years. She is a shining example of what a student-athlete should be.”

(Kris Kupinski also announced his commitment to continue his athletic career at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.)
In addition to Douglas’ achievement, Mount Dora senior Kris Kupinski also announced his commitment to continue his athletic career at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where he will compete as a pole vaulter for the track & field team.
Embry-Riddle, known for both its strong academic and athletic programs, will gain an athlete who has exemplified commitment, excellence, and leadership throughout his career.
“We can’t wait to see them compete at the next level,” Adkinson added. “Congratulations to their family, friends, coaches, and everyone who has worked to get them to this point in their lives.”
Both athletes leave behind an impressive legacy at Mount Dora High School and will now set their sights on new challenges as they transition to collegiate competition.
