Lake County Firefighter and Paramedic Rescue Kitten from Storm Drain

SOUTH CLERMONT, Fla. — Not all heroes wear capes — some wear bunker gear and carry compassion.
Last week in South Clermont, a heartwarming rescue unfolded when Lt. Johansmeyer and Firefighter/Paramedic Lange with the local fire department came to the aid of a kitten trapped in a stone storm drain.
The tiny feline, stranded and unable to free itself, caught the attention of nearby residents who alerted emergency services. Responding swiftly, the two firefighters sprang into action, using their training and teamwork to carefully retrieve the kitten from the narrow, debris-filled drain.
Thanks to their quick thinking and dedication, the frightened little adventurer was safely rescued and is now recovering from its ordeal.
The rescue serves as a reminder that acts of bravery don’t always make headlines — but they can make all the difference for those in need, no matter how small.
