Eustis Golfer Maggie Potash Qualifies for PGA Junior Championship at Purdue University

Incoming Stetson University freshman Maggie Potash from Eustis, Florida punched her ticket to one of the premier junior events in the country after a stellar performance at the North Florida Section PGA Junior Championship Qualifier, held at Orange Tree Golf Club in Orlando. Maggie fired a second-round 64, her career low, to finish 76-64 and claim one of the top spots. She’ll now head to Purdue University to compete in the PGA Junior Championship at the Brick Boilermaker Golf Complex later this summer.

Maggie is a graduate of First-Academy Leesburg and was part of the golf program the past seven years. Despite the school not having a dedicated girls golf program for much of her career, Maggie thrived playing alongside boys, even competing from boy’s tee boxes. Last year Maggie finished second at the Boys Buffalo invitational with an impressive score of 71.
Maggie’s high school career is filled with accolades, including six appearances at the FHSAA State Championships. Maggie is a three-time Sunshine State Athletic Association (SSAA) Women’s Golf State Champion. At the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) level, she finished 21st at the State Championships in 2024 and achieved a career-best sixth-place finish two years ago. She played in the 2023 Junior PGA Championship.

Maggie Potash will compete at Purdue University and play in the PGA Junior Championship at the Brick Boilermaker Golf Complex later this summer.
Maggie’s coach and father, Brian Potash, has helped guide her through her journey. “Maggie has been playing golf since she could stand,” said Brian. “She fell in love with the game early on. Coaching her has been easy because she’s so driven and self-sufficient. I usually only see her at the first tee box and then again at the end because I’m coaching others.”
In addition to her golfing achievements, Maggie is a stellar student and a Merit Scholar with a 4.0 GPA. She graduated high school with an associate degree from Lake-Sumter State College.
We are incredibly excited for Maggie and wish her the best of luck at the PGA Junior Championship at Purdue University later this summer! Go Maggie!
