Humble Native’s Makeover Brings More Room for Sandwiches and Sunshine in Wildwood

The Humble Native in Wildwood has a new look but the same Florida charm and pressed sandwiches that make it a local favorite are the same. Owner Cheyenne Daves recently closed the shop for a short stretch to complete the cosmetic renovations, giving the café more real estate and the boutique a polished refresh without losing the character that sets it apart.

“Our original plan did not include indoor seating,” Cheyenne says.  “While we personally love a nice outdoor seating area, customer demand prompted us to downsize our retail space and increase our dining room.”

Even though it wasn’t in their plans, they love the new space and are excited to share it with the ever-growing number of customers.

Housed in a 1920s home on South Main Street, the business blends Florida pride with hometown comfort. The flamingo wallpaper, boutique shelves stocked with locally made gifts and a café counter with playful Florida-themed menu items screams native. Grilled cheese sandwiches range from classic melts to cheeky creations like the Florida Roadkill, served alongside soups, cookies, Yoder’s ice cream and old-fashioned sodas. The boutique carries jewelry, candles, sauces and other artisan goods that showcase Florida makers.

The remodel added fresh paint, updated décor and layout improvements that make the space more inviting and functional, while preserving the cozy style and organic growth that has made the Humble Native a community favorite since it opened last year.

“We are growing and changing every day and there’s no telling what we’ll do next,” Cheyenne says.
