Lake Minneola comes into the 2023 season as the obvious favorite along with South Sumter in the Lake County region of Florida. Lake Minneola has lost Quinn Niemann and John Celestin as Quarterback and Running Back but has a great group coming up through the system. Three star recruit Quentin Taylor who is a 6″1 Senior Cornerback for Lake Minneola has committed to play for Iowa State. The defense will be strong this year and opposing QBs will have a difficult time throwing Taylor’s way. Meanwhile Braylon Knauth returns for his senior year. The 5″8 165lb Wide Receiver has had a terrific summer and has many schools looking at him. Jackson Hughes is the obvious choice for Quarterback and he comes into the year looking much more built than in 2022. The 6″1 175lb QB has an arm on him. Hughes will have plenty of depth this season to throw to. Look for the Hawks to come out strong against a Dr. Phillips team that struggled last year.
