Worship on the Water (WOW), a monthly worship event held in Tavares, is thrilled to announce that American Idol contestant Deida Jeudy will be leading worship at their upcoming event on Sunday April 21 at 4 p.m. WOW founder Kristen Baker said the collaboration between Deida Jeudy and WOW is nothing short of a “God thing.”  Recently, Deida’s mother stumbled upon a flyer for the event at Leesburg Music, leading to Deida’s participation.

WOW held their first service last October,  led by Kristen and her husband, Kevin. Inspired by the breathtaking views of Wooton Park and the serene waters of Tavares, their vision is to create an inclusive space where people can experience the presence of God amidst nature’s beauty.

“We were having coffee and struck up a conversation with an another couple about how beautiful the view was,” Kristen says. “Kevin said that he has always seen God in the sky and nature, even when he felt far away from God, he was always surrounded in God’s beauty and creation. He said ‘wouldn’t it be amazing if we could worship on the water,’ while pointing towards Wooton Park. That’s when we knew we wanted to bring worship music to Tavares.”

The goal is to worship God without any walls and make everyone feel welcome. It’s about connecting with God in a way that transcends traditional boundaries.

In addition to providing a spiritual sanctuary, WOW is dedicated to serving the community. Partnering with the Stepping Stone Coalition, the group is collecting gift cards for the 92 Lake County foster families in honor of Foster Family Appreciation Month in May. This initiative reflects their commitment to making a positive impact beyond the confines of their worship gatherings.

As Worship on the Water continues to grow, Kevin and Kristen envision expanding their reach to neighboring communities like Leesburg, with the hope of hosting events twice a month. Currently they are holding services on the third Sunday at Wooton Park.

Join Deida Jeudy, Kevin, Kristen and the Worship on the Water”community for an uplifting worship experience on Sunday, April 21 at Wooton Park in Tavares. All are welcome to come as they are and experience the power of worship in a breathtaking setting.
