Company/Job Title: Tribal Acres Farm, Lead Farmer/Rancher
Job responsibilities: Managing day-to-day operations on the farm, raising and caring for our cattle, turkeys, meat chickens, meat ducks, and sheep.
What makes me passionate about my career: I am passionate about raising and providing meat that is raised right for our customers and their families. ‘Raised right’ means no hormones, no antibiotics, grass-fed and with regenerative practices which keep our grasses 100 percent organic.
Advice for the younger generation: Being in the farming field, it is not an easy place to be successful. I would say, ‘Don’t let things that life throws at you make you feel like you are not good enough or not qualified in your field.’ Ultimately, I say, ‘Trust the Lord and allow Him to guide and provide for you. But keep pushing even when no one is pushing with you.’
My life after 40: I see the farm with a store, hosting farm tours to educate people on how and where their meat comes from, and hosting events here and having lodging options so people can experience the farm life. I also desire to have a ton more animals so that we can keep up with needs of our ever-growing client base here on Tribal Acres. Building a home for our whole family is something that is super important to me as well since we have given up a lot to pursue this farming life.
