Jaya B. Kumar, MD, FASRS, and Gabrielle Turski, MD, PhD, are bringing advanced retinal care and thoughtful leadership to Central Florida.

Dr. Kumar, a board certified vitreoretinal specialist with Florida Retina Institute, is widely recognized for her compassionate, patient centered approach and her leadership within the field. Since joining the practice in 2018, she has played a key role in expanding access to advanced retinal care across the region. Beyond the clinic, Dr. Kumar is a strong advocate for mental health awareness and physician mentorship, supporting both patients and colleagues with empathy, purpose and vision.

Dr. Turski, a fellowship trained uveitis and vitreoretinal specialist, brings a global and research driven perspective to her work. Her training includes time in Germany and at leading U.S. institutions such as the University of Virginia, the University of Washington and Duke University. In addition, Dr. Turski holds a PhD focused on neurodegenerative diseases, allowing her to approach complex retinal conditions with clinical precision grounded in scientific rigor. Known for her attention to detail and patient focused care, she is deeply committed to ensuring every patient feels seen, understood and expertly treated.
