City of Fruitland Park Adult Sports Coordinator Debbie Green Retires After 30 Years Of Service

Fruitland Park, Fla. — This week, Fruitland Park celebrates the career of Debbie Green, who is retiring after 30 years of dedicated service to the city and its community. Green, most recently serving as the Adult Sports Coordinator, has been an integral part of the Fruitland Park Recreation Department, leaving a lasting legacy through her hard work and commitment.

A familiar face at the city’s softball fields and leagues, Green has spent decades fostering camaraderie and community spirit through sports. Known for her tireless dedication, she often stepped in to fill roles, ensured every detail was perfectly handled, and consistently went the extra mile to support the Recreation Department in every way imaginable.

“Debbie has truly been the heart and soul of our department, her passion for Fruitland Park and her unwavering commitment to serving its residents have been extraordinary. While we’re sad to see her leave, we celebrate her incredible contributions and wish her a well-earned retirement,” said a Fruitland Park City official.

Green’s impact extended far beyond coordinating sports. Her leadership and meticulous attention to detail made her an invaluable asset to the city, earning her admiration and gratitude from colleagues and residents.

As Fruitland Park bids farewell to Green, we can’t stress the immeasurable contributions that she provided all these years. We are thankful to her for making Fruitland Park a better place.

Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.

For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.

Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
