Clermont Police Department has 19 free bicycles for people in need
Clermont police officers will give away free bicycles to community members in need. The police department has 19 recently donated bicycles that officers will deliver on Friday, April 17. “During this difficult time, our goal is to provide some joy and happiness to our community,” Police Chief Charles Broadway says in a news release. “We hope these bicycles will encourage their recipients to stay active and to spend time outside with their families while practicing social distancing.” Staff members are compiling a list of children, teenagers and adults who would benefit most from a bicycle; school resource officers are working with school staff for assistance. If you would like to suggest someone in need of a bike, contact Cpl. Eric Ruiz at 352.536.8419 as soon as possible with the nominee’s name and contact information.
