Construction Reaches Halfway Mark On New Minneola K-8 School Set To Open Next Summer

Minneola, FL — The construction of Minneola’s new K-8 school has reached a significant milestone, with Lake County Schools confirming that the building is now halfway complete. The new state-of-the-art facility is on track to open its doors to students in the summer of 2025, marking a critical step forward in the district’s efforts to expand schools and meet the demands of the area’s growing population.

(Construction is well under way at the Minneola K-8 school. Much work is still to be done but a summer opening of 2025 is planned.)

The school, located in the rapidly expanding city of Minneola, will serve students across kindergarten through eighth grade. The new school is being built right next to a new subdivision that will bring in at least 10,000 new homes in Minneola. The new school campus will be a positive thing for the community since the nearest public elementary school is currently 6.5 miles away.

(The parking lot of the school has already been built.)

The project remains on schedule, having began in late 2023 and has progressed steadily. Over the next few months crews will begin on the interior of the school buildings. The parking lot is already built and the school appears to be right on track for a summer opening in 2025.

(On a recent tour of the school Lake County School’s got to see the newest educational facility which will house students from the nearly 10,000 new homes going into Minneola the next few years.)

Parents and community leaders have expressed excitement over the new school’s potential to provide further educational opportunities and was very much needed for a housing project of this scale happening in the area. The city of Minneola has seen rapid growth over the past decade, with housing developments and a rising number of families moving into the area. Further educational developments are planned for the future as well for Lake County.

We are very excited about the potential this school brings and we look forward to seeing it’s grand opening in the summer of 2025.
