Could Costco Be Coming to The Villages?
A Facebook post by Sumter County Commissioner Don Wiley says yes, a Costco in the Villages has been confirmed. We have reached out to Costco for comment but have not heard back.
According to Don, “recent permit submittals now confirm Costco is coming to The Villages on CR466 in the lot next to Hobby Lobby. More details to follow.”
Then on The Villages Talk, another confirmed with this post, showing details of the site plans.
So it seems that The Villages will soon have yet another retail giant in its midst.
Costco Wholesale Corporation continues to dominate the retail landscape with its wide array of products and membership-based business model, offering shoppers access to quality goods at competitive prices.
Established in 1976 in San Diego, California, Costco has grown into one of the world’s largest retailers. Originally known as Price Club, the company merged with Costco in 1993, rebranding as Costco Wholesale Corporation in 1997.
Costco’s business model revolves around membership-only warehouse clubs, requiring customers to purchase an annual membership to shop at its stores. This approach allows the company to offer bulk quantities of products at discounted rates, appealing to savvy shoppers looking to save money on everyday items.
Membership at Costco comes with perks, including access to different tiers such as Gold Star, Business, and Executive memberships. Each tier offers benefits like cashback rewards, additional discounts, and exclusive access to Costco’s travel services.
