East Ridge High Football Player Travarus Boykin Commits To Briar Cliff University
East Ridge High School football player Travarus Boykin has committed to Briar Cliff University. Travarus was a receiver as well as a special teams standout this year, returning kickoffs and punts for East Ridge High School.
Travarus also played safety on the defense for the Knights and had an interception and many pass breakups this season. He showed his versatility and athleticism in all three portions of the game, be it offensively, defensively, or on special teams.
Travarus said in a social media post “First off I want to thank God for getting me through the hardships in my life and putting me in this position. I want to thank my coaches especially coach Donnie for believing in me and working me everyday. I want to thank the coaching staff at the Cliff for believing in me. I want to thank my family and all my friends.” says Travarus.
This season he had a kickoff returned for a touchdown and also had two touchdown receptions with 224 receiving yards. Travarus excelled at his role as a kick return specialist, having amassed 408 yards of total yardage. That often set the offense up in a good position to drive down the field.
Travarus joins Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa, in 2024. The University is part of the NAIA division of college football. Briar Cliff is coming off a 4-7 season and is coached by Shane LaDage.
Travarus had offers from St. Thomas University, Rockford University, Manchester University, Norwich, Roseville Athletic Academy, Culver-Stockton College, Faulkner University among others.
Congratulations to Travarus Boykin, his coaches, and family as he continues his academic and playing career at the next level.
