Eustis High’s Annabelle Shook Blends Leadership and Athletics on Path to UF

EUSTIS, Fla. — Eustis High School senior Annabelle Shook is headed to the University of Florida this fall, bringing with her a record of academic excellence, leadership, and athletic commitment that has made her a standout among her peers.
Shook, who graduates with an impressive 4.6 GPA, has been a key figure in multiple student organizations during her time at Eustis High. She served as the executive vice president of student government, vice president of the National Honor Society, and district historian for the Future Business Leaders of America. It’s something Shook has enjoyed and shows her deep commitment to service and leadership which has made her a standout at Eustis High.

(Annabelle Shook graduated from Lake-Sumter State College before graduating high school becoming one of a very select few at Eustis High to accomplish this feat.)
Outside the classroom, Shook was equally dedicated, running cross-country for four years and competing in track for three. She was able to balance her athletics schedule with not only high school classwork, but was also enrolled at Lake-Sumter State College where she became one of the few Eustis High students to graduate college with an associates degree before earning her high school degree.

(Shook is all smiles after finishing 2nd at an FHSAA Cross-Country race earlier in the year.)
At the University of Florida, Shook will study Agricultural Communications with a minor in Agribusiness, a path that blends her passion for agriculture with her communication skills and leadership experience.
When asked about the best advice she’s received, Shook reflected, “Live your life in a way that your future self will thank you for.” It’s a motto she has clearly lived by—setting goals, giving back, and striving for excellence in every endeavor.
We wish Annabelle Shook the best of luck in the future and congratulate her on a fantastic high school career.

After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.
For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.
Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
