Skyler Cloud is the starting pitcher for the Eustis Lady Panther Softball team. She is perhaps one of the best pitchers in Lake County. Cloud is off to a tremendous start to the 2024 season. Now in her senior year, she is looking to end her high school career on a high note.
Skyler has been a huge asset to the Eustis program. No matter if she is batting or pitching, she has had a great impact. Back in November, Skyler signed to play softball for the Seminole State Raiders, where she will continue her academic and playing career.
(Skylar Cloud left has been dominant on the mound this season.)
This season, Cloud has pitched a total of 13 innings, surrendering only 8 hits and 2 earned runs. She has 21 strikeouts and has faced nearly 50 batters so far. Her ERA is currently at 1.05, which is one of the lowest in the county. Skyler also has 3 RBIs this season, so while she may not boast the numbers of Jensen Luke, Ciera Maple, or Gabby Hiles, she is having an impact by driving in runs, which is exactly what should be expected of her in the batter’s box considering she is the starting pitcher.
The success this year is nothing new. Skyler has always been capable of great things. Her summer travel ball season was impressive, and she played behind one of the best pitchers in Eustis High School Softball history last year in Libby Levendoski, who is currently playing softball for NAVY.

Last year, Skyler played in the outfield and had a terrific year at the plate, posting a .307 batting average, driving in 7 runs, and having 23 hits during the season. But this year, Skyler has taken on the lead pitching role for the Eustis Panthers. With Levendoski gone, Eustis knew that Skyler was an excellent option on the mound. It is her time to shine, and she has been absolutely stellar thus far.
While Skyler has had plenty of help from her teammates, games against South Sumter and Horizon recently told us that she is on her A-Game. The games against Taylor and New Smyrna Beach got things started, but South Sumter and Horizon are better competition. Now, the Panthers will face some real stiff competition coming up with games against Umatilla, Apopka, Keystone Heights, Mount Dora, and The Villages, which will be coming up in a few weeks’ time. That will really give an indication on where the Eustis Lady Panther program is this season.
Overall the season is looking up for the Eustis Panthers this year. Head Coach Brittany Beall always does a trumendous job every year at getting her girls ready. In fact the team just recently was out in the community helping clean cars to support the program. Love to see the hard work and commitment of these young girsl! Now, it will be up to the team to keep scoring runs to keep the pressure off of Skyler Cloud as the season moves along.
