Eustis Homecoming Parade Takes Spirit To The Streets

It was a great day for the City of Eustis as the town celebrated its annual homecoming week! Despite thunderstorms in the area, the event went on as scheduled and it was a great time!

The homecoming parade started off with the parade of colors followed by the Eustis Fire Department, The Eustis High School band provided some great acoustics marching through the historic downtown brick streets of Eustis.

The Eustis High School AFJROTC marched through the streets. Eustis Mayor Michael Holland attended along with Miss Eustis and Mini Miss Eustis.

The Eustis Cheerleaders and Jr. Cheer teams participated as did the Eustis Middle School. The Eustis High School baseball team and softball teams were fan favorites and had a ton of supporters.

Perhaps the float that caught everyone’s eye was a giant pontoon boat that made its way down the road decked out in Eustis Blue and Gold along with some disco balls.

Then it was time to welcome the Eustis Junior Varsity and Varsity Football teams along with the Homecoming Representatives who will be crowned this Friday night at the Eustis vs The Villages Football game at 7:00pm.

The entire event ended at the Eustis High School Football stadium where the football team put on a rousing pep rally encouraging the town to come out and support The Eustis Panthers as they attempt to go for a second straight district championship.

District play starts this week against The Villages and the town is buzzing for what would be a huge home win against The Villages, a team that always proves to play Eustis well. Head coach Frank Scott will need everything his team can offer in order to beat The Villages who have a decent defense this year.

There is no question The Villages struggles offensively and Eustis has one of the top quarterbacks in Lake County with Troy Saladin who is now over 1,000 yards on the season through the air and on the ground combined.

The event was great for the town of Eustis and we hope the game between Eustis and The Villages is a good one! We also wish all the Homecoming court at Eustis the best of luck. No matter who the winner is, it’s all about having fun!
