Clermont, Florida — Naomi Cabello, an East Ridge High School graduate from Clermont, Florida, has kicked off the 2024 volleyball season with an impressive start for NC State, continuing to establish herself as a key player for the Wolfpack. Cabello who’s sister is Nayelis Cabello and is a freshman that attends Louisville, has been such a joy to watch over the many years she has competed.

(Naomi Cabello #8 stands with her teammates at East Ridge High during her senior year.)

Last season Naomi appeared in 109 sets across 29 matches, recording 455 assists and averaging 4.17 assists per set. Prior to joining NC State, Cabello played two seasons at the University of Texas.

Cabello’s volleyball journey began at East Ridge High School, where she earned numerous accolades. A highly regarded recruit, she was ranked No. 6 in the 2020 class and was named to the 2019 AVCA Under Armour First Team All-America and the All-USA Today Preseason Volleyball Team. She was a three-time MVP at East Ridge and a four-time district champion. Cabello also gained experience at the national level, being selected to the USA Junior National Team Training Team in 2018 and 2019.

(Sister Nayelis Cabello is also off to a strong start in her Freshman year for Louisville.)

Her standout play for NC State this season continues to reflect the promise she showed during her high school career, as Cabello remains a cornerstone of the Wolfpack’s offense, setting the tone for what could be a heck of a run. NC State is currently 7-3. Meanwhile Nayelis Cabello is on a Louisville team that is 10-2. It’s been an amazing start for both of these young women! Way to represent Lake County!
