Power & Purpose
If you’ve ever owned a business, you already know… it’s not for the faint of heart.
This month, we’re celebrating the incredible women of Lake and Sumter counties who have said “yes” to the challenge anyway. The ones who show up, push forward and keep going even when it would be easier to quit. As a business owner myself, I can tell you firsthand that success isn’t just about talent or timing. It’s about grit. It’s about determination. It’s about walking straight through fear and anxiety and doing it anyway.
There’s a certain kind of person who chooses this path. Someone self-motivated, resilient and willing to roll with the punches time and time again. Because let’s be honest… entrepreneurship has a funny way of keeping you humble. As Dave Ramsey once said, being a business owner means you can go from extreme excitement to sheer panic in about 24 hours. And I can confidently say… that is one hundred percent accurate.

The women featured in this issue embody that reality. They’ve built, rebuilt and kept moving forward. They’ve taken risks, faced setbacks and still found a way to rise. And for that, they deserve more than recognition… they deserve a standing ovation.
This year’s Businesswoman of the Year, Amanda Gaskin, is the perfect example of what happens when hard work meets persistence. She represents everything this issue stands for and, in a year where we celebrate the 250th birthday of America, she is also a reflection of the true American dream.
So as you flip through these pages, I hope you feel inspired. Motivated. Maybe even a little braver.
Because if there’s one thing these women prove, it’s this… you don’t have to be fearless to succeed. You just have to be willing to keep going.
Until next month,

Kendra
