LADY LAKE, Fla. (AP) — A chilly morning in Lady Lake turned into a heartwarming rescue when police officers saved four abandoned puppies found shivering in the woods.

Lady Lake Police Sgt. Charles Gehrsitz discovered the tiny litter huddled together in the cold and quickly called for assistance. Officer Erica Hall arrived on the scene, carefully gathering the puppies and keeping them warm until Lake County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control could step in.
Officers from the Fruitland Park Police Department also joined the effort, offering additional support—and plenty of cuddles—to help the frightened pups.
