LADY LAKE, Fla. — The Lady Lake Police Department, in collaboration with Target and the Kiwanis Club of Lady Lake, made spirits bright for 62 local children during the annual Santa’s Heroes and Helpers event on Saturday at Target in Lady Lake.

Local schools helped identify families in need of holiday assistance, ensuring the event reached those who could use extra support this season. The Lady Lake Police Department provided 14 dedicated helpers, including sworn officers, support staff, and two volunteers from the Town of Lady Lake who brought holiday magic to life as Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

The Kiwanis Club of Lady Lake and Target donated over 50 $100 gift cards for the event, while unused cards from last year’s program covered the additional funding. PetSmart also joined in the festivities, donating stuffed animals to delight every participating child.

In a demonstration of interdepartmental unity, the Fruitland Park Police Department lent its support by providing funding, staff, and participants for the event. The two departments frequently collaborate on both public safety initiatives and community-focused efforts like this one, which aims to bring holiday joy to local families.

“Our annual Santa’s Heroes and Helpers event is a special opportunity for us to connect with the community and bring smiles to children’s faces,” a spokesperson for the Lady Lake Police Department said. “We are grateful for the incredible partnerships that make this event possible.”

This heartwarming collaboration reflects the strong bonds between local law enforcement, community organizations, and businesses in making the holiday season brighter for those in need.
