Lake Minneola Football Player Braylon Knauth Signs Commitment with The Citadel
Lake Minneola football star Braylon Knauth has signed with The Citadel for the 2024 football season. The standout wide receiver had a tremendous year. Knauth would go on to catch 12 touchdowns on the season and was the only wide receiver on the team with over 1,000 yards, finishing the year with 1,253 total yards. Knauth averaged around 16.7 yards per catch. He and fellow quarterback Jackson Hughes, who recently committed to Kaiser University in Florida, were virtually unstoppable at points during the season.
Knauth’s ability to make yards after contact is a huge advantage to his game. During Knauth’s junior year, he caught 9 touchdowns and had 862 yards. So, in the final two years of his high school career, Knauth had over 2,000 yards receiving. That is something that The Citadel will be happy to have on their roster.
The Citadel plays in the FCS, which is NCAA Division 1 just below FBS. They will be playing against teams such as Mercer, Furman, Samford, Chattanooga, and Clemson during the 2024 season.
This is a huge opportunity for Braylon Knauth, who we know is one of the elite wide receivers in Central Florida. He will now get the opportunity to showcase those skills against some of the best competition in football at the FCS level. Knauth is a current AVID student and also a member of the boys’ weightlifting and track team, which he is currently in.
Congratulations to Braylon Knauth. We look forward to seeing him play for The Citadel in 2024!
