Lake Minneola High School Hires New Head Football Coach Mike McGlynn

Lake Minneola High has hired their new Head Football Coach Mike McGlynn! Mike McGlynn is a former NFL Player and coach. He grew up in Youngstown, Ohio. Mike has loved football from a very young age, he earned a scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh where he was a 4 year starter and earned his bachelor’s degree.

His NFL career started in 2008, when he was drafted in the fourth round by the Philadelphia Eagles. Mike got to play with some of the best. He had the pleasure of playing for the Philadelphia Eagles, Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs and New Orleans Saints.

Mike’s coaching career started while he was still in the NFL working with Coach Tom Shaw Speed and Performance. There he was able to share his love of the game to help guide and develop young athletes.

Since retiring from the NFL in 2016, Mike has served as an Offensive Coordinator, Offensive Line/Run Game Coordinator in multiple programs across Central Florida. “My goal is to utilize the game of football as a vehicle to develop and educate the next generation of young men towards achieving their goals. I am excited to be named the next head football coach at Lake Minneola High School and look forward to serving the Minneola community.” Says coach McGlynn! Welcome to Lake County!!
