Lake Technical College Unveils State-Of-The-Art Transportation Innovation Hub
Tavares, Fla. — Lake Technical College, in partnership with the City of Tavares, celebrated the grand opening of its brand-new Transportation Innovation Hub. The 25,000-square-foot facility, co-located with Tavares Public Works Operations, is designed to offer cutting-edge workforce training in high-wage, high-skill, in-demand transportation careers.
The state-of-the-art hub is seen as a significant milestone in workforce development for the region, providing students with the tools and environment necessary to prepare for the future of transportation industries. College officials highlighted that the facility is not just a space for learning, but a crucial investment in the future workforce of the community.
“A huge thank you to our state and community supporters who made this project possible,” Lake Technical College said in a statement. “Together, we’re not just building a facility; we’re shaping the future of our community.”
The advanced workspace is set to provide students in the region the opportunity to train in technologically enhanced settings, ensuring they are well-prepared for the demands of modern transportation careers. The partnership with the City of Tavares underscores the community-wide commitment to equipping local residents with the skills needed to thrive in an evolving economy.

Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.
For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.
Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
