Lebanese-Inspired Desserts Making Waves at Local Market

What began as a kitchen experiment inside a Mount Dora restaurant has grown into a dessert brand known for its unique flavors and handmade quality.
Sweet Bites by Beirut Bites was started by Patricia Khabbaz, a Mount Dora native with Lebanese roots, who began creating Dubai-inspired chocolate bars and strawberry cups at her mother’s restaurant, Beirut Bites, located in downtown Mount Dora Marketplace.
“Our handcrafted treats, rich in flavor, filled with pistachio cream, and made with care—began turning heads, winning hearts, and creating loyal customers,” Patricia says.
She later teamed up with Hannah Dilday, who shares a passion for desserts and helps run pop-up events and operations.
With Patricia’s creativity and Hannah’s dedication behind the scenes and at every pop-up event, the two joined forces to launch Sweet Bites by Beirut Bites. Sweet Bites offers a range of desserts including Dubai chocolate bars, strawberry cups, brownies, cookies and baklava. All items are homemade and filled with their signature pistachio cream.
“Until we open our own storefront, you can find us at local pop-up markets, events, and inside Beirut Bites in downtown Mount Dora Marketplace, the place where it all began,” Hannah says.
The business frequently appears at local events through Whimsy Market and will be at the Fresh Market in Eustis every other Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ferran Park.
“Every bite we make is a labor of love,” Patricia says. “Our mission isn’t just to satisfy your sweet tooth, but to create joy, spark memories, and bring people together, one dessert at a time.”
