Leesburg Electric Announces Slight Increase Starting April 1

Sorry guys, I don’t think this is an April Fool’s Day trick.

Based on fluctuating fuel costs and initial fiscal year estimates, Leesburg Electric will be modestly increasing the Bulk Power Cost Adjustment (BPCA) by $0.005 per kWh effective April 1, 2025. In an effort to minimize the overall impact to monthly electric charges, the timing and implementation of the increase has been scheduled during the spring.

With the increase, the total BPCA charge will be $0.025 per kWh. The BPCA will yield a cost of $132.97 for the first 1,000 kWh of consumption. Even when factoring in this increase, Leesburg Electric continues to be one of the region’s most economical utility providers. Moving forward, Leesburg Electric will continue to monitor fuel and other costs with the final goal of ensuring that customers are receiving the lowest possible rate for their energy needs.
