Leesburg High School Hosts 2024 Homecoming Parade In Downtown Leesburg
LEESBURG, Fla. — Leesburg High School kicked off its 2024 Homecoming festivities on Wednesday evening with a vibrant parade that wove through the heart of downtown Leesburg, delighting hundreds of spectators who gathered along Main Street to cheer on students, athletes, and community members.
Led by the Leesburg High Marching Band, the parade featured colorful floats, local dignitaries, and various student organizations showcasing school spirit ahead of the homecoming football game this upcoming Friday night against Lyman High. The football team, dressed in their jerseys, waved to the crowd. Leesburg Commissioner Alan Reisman along with West Leesburg CDC member Fred Griffin Jr. were in attendance.
“It’s an incredible opportunity to bring the community together,” said Leesburg Principal Michael Randolph. “Homecoming is a tradition that means a lot to our students and alumni, and it’s great to see everyone out here supporting the Yellow Jackets.”
The parade also included a special appearance by the Homecoming Court, with seniors vying for the titles of king and queen. Local businesses and community organizations contributed to the festivities with creatively decorated vehicles and floats that lined the streets.
It’s wonderful to see the town come alive with school spirit. This is an event the town looks forward to every year.
The festivities will culminate with the homecoming football game at Leesburg High School where the Yellow Jackets will face off against Lyman High. The much-anticipated crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen will take place during halftime.
