Leesburg High School Softball Team Off To Red Hot Start

LEESBURG, Fla. — The Leesburg High School softball team is off to a scorching start to the season, outscoring their first two opponents by a combined 32-0. The Lady Jackets opened with a dominant 15-0 victory over Real Life Christian Academy before cruising to an 18-0 win against Wildwood.
Brianna Tozer has been a key contributor at the plate, tallying five RBIs, five hits, and five runs scored. Kennadi Williams has also been a force, driving in four runs with three hits and scoring five times. Catcher Cassidy Custer and Addison Hunter have been equally impressive, leading the team in runs scored with six apiece in just two games.

(Brianna Tozer is a senior outfielder who has been impressive at the plate to start the year off.)
The Lady Jackets have also been stellar on the mound. Racheal Chiles has been nearly unhittable, striking out nine batters while allowing just two hits over 3.2 innings with a perfect 0.00 ERA. Sophia Ross has matched the dominance, throwing three scoreless innings with four strikeouts and surrendering just one hit.

(Catcher Cassidy Custer recently committed to play softball at Milwaukee Area Technical College.)
Head coach Amber Prescott and assistant coach Thomas Prescott have continued to elevate the program, building off last year’s record-setting 16-win campaign—the best season in Leesburg softball history since fast pitch was introduced in the 90s. The Lady Jackets aim to maintain their momentum with a challenging schedule ahead, featuring matchups against regional contenders Tavares, Umatilla, Eustis, Belleview, Windermere Prep, and Mainland.
This will be an intersting season for the Lady Jackets. It’s such a great thing to see this program continue it’s rise and have continuous work put into. Hard work by athletic director Spencer Hey went into adding enhancements to the program. From sprucing up the softball field, to finding a dedicated coaching staff, the results have paid off as the Lady Jackets have all bought into the program. It will be exciting to see how the 2025 season evolves. Keep your eyes on the Lady Jackets in 2025!
