Leesburg Lightning Dominate Sandford River Rats 22-3, Force Decisive Game 3
The Leesburg Lightning roared back to life with a resounding 22-3 victory over the Sanford River Rats in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series. This dominant win sets up a decisive Game 3 at home in Leesburg, with the winner advancing to the FCSL Championship Series.
The Lightning’s offense was unstoppable from the start, with key performances from Collin Priest and Michael Furry among many others who proved too much for the Sanford River Rats pitchers to handle. It was like watching the video game MLB Slugfest on the Playstation 2, where guys got red hot and bust into flames in the batters box. The Lightning literally could not be stopped last night.
This victory not only evens the series but also boosts the Lightning’s momentum as they head into the decisive Game 3. The stakes couldn’t be higher, with the winner earning a spot in the FCSL Championship Series.
Leesburg fans are eagerly anticipating the final showdown at home, confident that their team can carry the momentum from their spectacular Game 2 victory into Game 3. With a championship berth on the line, the Lightning are ready to light up the field once more and aim for back-to-back titles.
The public is invited to come out and cheer the team on. Admission to the game is free. You are encouraged to bring your own chairs as Pat Thomas stadium will be very full tonight as a big crowd is expected. We hope to see you there!
