Michael and Lisa Huey Bring A Legacy of Health, Faith, and Service To Sumter County

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — Michael David Huey and Lisa Helena Huey, a husband-and-wife duo with a combined six decades of experience in health, fitness, and ministry, are making a significant impact in their community. From mentoring athletes to ministering in schools, the Hueys have devoted their lives to serving others, combining their expertise and faith to inspire lasting change.

Michael, has spent over 30 years in the fitness and nutrition industry, coaching and training athletes and individuals to achieve their health goals. In 2019, he received a nomination for an honorary Ph.D.. That same year, Michael answered a higher calling, stepping into ministry and becoming ordained. Today, he continues to blend his passion for health and faith, emphasizing that physical well-being is an integral part of spiritual stewardship.

(Michael has been a person that many have gone to if they need a person to talk with. From athletes to students or just regular people, Michael has been a beacon of hope to many.)

Lisa, a nurse for three decades and who currently works at Leesburg Hospital, brings compassion and dedication to her role as a healthcare provider. A certified Christian life coach and soon-to-be author, she extends her care beyond the hospital walls, helping others find purpose and balance in their lives.

The couple attends The Father’s House in Leesburg and leads a ministry that reaches local schools in Sumter County. Their work focuses on mentoring students, offering guidance, and demonstrating the importance of faith and healthy living.

Despite being in their upper 50s, the Hueys radiate youthful energy, attributing their vitality to a commitment to healthy living and faith. “We age in reverse,” Michael says with a laugh, “We might be in our upper 50s but we feel like we are 35,” he says emphasizing that they take no medications and prioritize physical and spiritual health.

They have big plans too “We are going to plan on doing a build with a ministry called “Sleep In A heavenly Peace” where we will be placing beds in homes of kids who don’t have a bed.” says Michael.

As the new year unfolds, Michael and Lisa are eager to continue their mission of service. “We are honored to be part of this community,” Michael says. “We believe God takes our health seriously, and we do too. If anyone needs support, we are here to help. Happy New Year, and God bless.”

Through their ministry and professional expertise, the Hueys exemplify the power of combining health, faith, and service to create a lasting impact in their community. Michael continues to help local athletes, students and people in need of a helping hand and delivering them a guiding light of hope.

Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.

For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.

Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
